Ductwork Delivery Calculator

Estimate the delivery cost of your ductwork order in seconds. Enter your delivery postcode and order details and the calculator recommends the correct vehicle, works out real road mileage from our Hertfordshire workshop and prices the delivery — including timed slots, out-of-hours options and unloading assistance.

How ductwork delivery is calculated

Every estimate starts with the space your order actually needs in a van. Each item is measured as the box it occupies when packed, multiplied by a packing factor for its shape, reduced where items can nest inside each other, and given a loading safety margin. The adjusted volume, weight and longest item are compared against each vehicle in the fleet, and the delivery is priced on road mileage from Knebworth.

Why ductwork volume differs from van capacity

Ductwork is irregular. Bends, tees and transitions do not stack neatly, fittings can be damaged if compressed, and safe loading needs working space — so only around 65% of a van's internal volume is treated as usable, and fittings carry higher packing factors than straight lengths.

How Smart Vent selects the correct vehicle

The smallest vehicle that satisfies every limit is recommended: practical usable volume, payload, and whether the longest item physically fits in any orientation. If one vehicle is not enough, the calculator works out the most economical multi-van combination and flags very large orders for a manual transport quotation.

Ductwork delivery from Knebworth

All orders are manufactured and dispatched from our workshop in Knebworth, Hertfordshire — just off the A1(M), within easy reach of London, the Home Counties, the Midlands and East Anglia.

UK nationwide ductwork delivery

We deliver across mainland Great Britain. Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and islands, the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands are quoted manually so the right carrier and crossing can be arranged.

Access and unloading requirements

Loading bays, parking, height or width restrictions, tail-lift needs, booking-in references and site inductions can all affect a delivery. The first 30 minutes of waiting are included, and unloading assistance with one or two labourers can be added to any delivery.

Transit, Long Wheelbase and Luton delivery options

Smaller orders travel in a Standard Transit van, mid-size orders in a Long Wheelbase van, and full fabrication packages in a Luton van with tail lift. The calculator always recommends the smallest — and therefore cheapest — vehicle your order safely fits in. Price your ductwork or request a manual delivery quotation.
